The years of OccupationIn the years of the Occupation, our Church, under the enlightened guidance of Metropolite Joachim undertook the struggle for the survival of the people.
Rationed meals in the parishes,interventions of the Bishop to the occupation forces and the rebels, the organization of medical provisions and services saved thousands of people from hunger and death. Én the subsequent years the Church was in the front line in the struggle to support our people's social struggles. For this reason she was lovingly embraced by the people, who after God have her as their support.
